The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 – Guide 4: The Workplace

This TAEN guide explains the significance of the Age Regulations for employees in their employment relationship with their employers.

It covers a range of issues from promotion and new job opportunities and the factors that can influence them (including experience; qualifications; workforce and succession planning; working time before retirement; health and safety; and genuine occupational requirements) to fitting in with the culture of a work team and pay and conditions.

The guide provides some examples of how rates of pay can vary between people of different ages and the reasons for the variation in remuneration.
